Ommm…

If you’re new to yoga, starting can feel daunting. But don’t worry – we’re here to help!

Neither of these will improve without training. Yoga’s health benefits reward the practitioner far past physical aspects.

Don’t exclude yourself from a practice without knowing its philosophy.

This blog post is designed for absolute beginners who have never set foot on a yoga mat. We will discuss the basics of yoga, including what to expect in your first class and some tips for getting started. Yoga can be a great way to improve your health and well-being, and it’s never too late to start!

How to Start Yoga Steps

  1. Find a studio

So, let’s get started! The first thing you need to do is find a yoga studio or class that feels right for you. There are many different types of yoga which you can read about at the following link to find your type. Therefore, it’s important to find a class that fits your interests. Once you’ve found a class, the next step is to show up!

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in, and bring a water bottle. You may want to bring a yoga mat if you have one (read our recommended yoga equipment), but most studios will provide mats for students.

  1. Class

Now it’s time for the fun part: the actual yoga! Introduce yourself to the instructor before class starts. This helps them guide you into the correct pose and any difficulties you have in their studio. During your first class, just focus on being present and breathing deeply. Don’t worry about getting all of the poses perfect – that will come with time. Just enjoy the experience and see how your body feels.

  1. Savasana

After your first class, you may feel a bit sore (this is normal!). Drink plenty of water and give your body some time to adjust. If you enjoyed your first yoga class, congratulations! Weight loss and improved flexibility started your interest before you learned more about yoga practice. You find out yoga focuses on the mind connecting to the body. The health benefits evolve far past physical characteristics to lowering stress, boosting immunity and improving sleep to name a few.

Prepare Yourself

Now that you know yoga absolute beginner’s guide, it’s time to roll out your mat and get started! Just remember to be present, breathe deeply, and enjoy the experience. You’re about to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Yoga is an amazing practice that can help improve your physical and mental health. Yoga is for everyone – you don’t need to be flexible or strong to enjoy the benefits of this wonderful practice. You’re on the way to a healthier and happier lifestyle. Namaste!
